We were so proud of our achievements in 2025, from new members, resources and partnerships to advancements in our members’ work around data publication and independent review and our innovations in private sector working, and tackling the climate crisis.
We’re equally enthusiastic for what we have in store for 2026 in all of these areas and more.
New resources and shining examples of impact
In recent years, we’ve released vital resources around Open Government, Engaging Embassies, climate finance, the Infrastructure Transparency Index and more. This year, we’ll continue expanding our resources to support our membership and beyond. This includes guidance on calculating financial savings as a result of the CoST approach and further resources on data publication.
We’ll also be highlighting the work of our members in Indonesia and Colombia, and multiple members’ work across the globe on social accountability. These stories will provide helpful insight to both CoST members, those looking to adapt our methods, tools or standards, and those who wish to understand the significant impact of our work.
Expanding our work on data publication
Independent review, and publication of data are key components of our work. Our members publish accessible infrastructure data and review infrastructure projects according to our internationally recommended data standards. Our members are continuing to ensure transparent, accessible information on infrastructure data is the norm.
Several members will be publishing new independent reviews, including Malawi, Panama, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Uganda, Sekondi-Takarodi and more. Alongside this Dominican Republic and Mozambique will be launching their platforms, while members may make updates to members.
With some promising results already evident, we’ll continue exploring how our climate and sustainability data standards can be used to support members and non-members alike.
Several members will also be publishing an Infrastructure Transparency Index, including Jalisco and Panama.
Focus on important thematic areas
Anti-corruption and working with the private sector, focusing on climate change, sustainability and social equality, open government working, and exploring transparency across different infrastructure sectors are just some of the vital themes that can run across all aspects of our approach.
We’ll be building on our work with the private sector, including the creation of an Infrastructure Anti-Corruption Toolbox and working with the private sector to highlight how our tools and standards support their work. We’ll continue to highlight the vital lessons from our private sector portal.
We’ll also be expanding our focus around beneficial ownership – especially in Latin America – and continuing our work around climate and sustainability, open government and embassies.
We’ll also be using key international events and days to highlight vital issues – and solutions – in transparent, accountable and participatory infrastructure processes.
We know that there’s a lot of exciting work in store for us this year. The work that we do couldn’t happen without our members, and we’re grateful to the partners that we have for their support. If you’re interested in joining, applying our standards or working with us further, please do get in contact at CoST@infrastructuretransparency.org.
