Sustainability and climate finance modules

The CoST IDS and the OC4IDS now include new optional data sets designed to capture the multidimensional value of infrastructure investments.

The data sets are grouped according to four areas of sustainable infrastructure: economic and financial, social, environmental and climate resilience, and institutional dimensions. In addition, there is one optional data set designed to tackle climate finance investments.

The introduction of these modules enhances the CoST IDS and OC4IDS by adding 78 new data points that governments can use to publish and improve transparency of infrastructure projects holistically.

The modules offer flexibility, allowing governments and contracting authorities to adopt them incrementally to address their most pressing needs while maintaining publication of project basic data.

The modules include:

Each module can be used according to areas of interest and needs from governments and other relevant stakeholders within a country, region or city. This allows for a deeper understanding of the financial viability, social inclusivity, environmental responsibility and institutional transparency of infrastructure projects, while ensuring integrity in climate finance investments. Furthermore, a combination of different data points, from different modules, is also possible.
