Next month between the 6-10 October, the 2025 Open Government Partnership (OGP) Global Summit will take place in Spain. Over 2,000 high-level stakeholders from across governments and civil society will take part in collaborating and sharing solutions around open governance challenges. CoST members and international secretariat are looking forward to attending.
CoST and OGP share a long history of collaboration and mutual support with next year marking a decade since OGP first endorsed our work through an Open Government award to CoST programmes in Malawi and Honduras. Since then our relationship has gone from strength to strength, with increasing OGP members featuring CoST in their OGP action plans to progress transparency, accountability and participation in public infrastructure. We hope at the OGP Global Summit more governments will learn how the CoST approach and our free tools can help them in their open governance aims.
We are excited to join this year’s Global Summit and contribute in several events – please join us at:
Partnerships and Pintxos: A networking event
Tuesday 7th October. 19.00 – 21.00. Tolono Bar.
Leave the PowerPoints and formal speeches behind to join us at this event to network with like-minded OGP Summit colleagues from all sectors and countries in a relaxed setting over pintxos and drinks. This event is organised by CoST. Advance registration is required here.
The power of open procurement: more transparency, better public services and sustainable communities
Wednesday 8th October. 11 – 12.30. Main conference venue.
This session will feature best practices from government and civil society, lessons and impact from open contracting reforms, and explore how to use public procurement as a lever for broader social, economic and environmental reforms such as building sustainable infrastructure, empowering civil society participation in public spending decisions, and delivering better value for money.
