An Interim MSG has been elected to oversee establishment of the CoST Honduras programme. The election formed part of a ‘CoST Stakeholder Workshop’ that was held last week in Tegucigalpa.
The Interim MSG was tasked with designing disclosure and assurance and processes that are appropriate to the particular circumstances in Honduras.
CoST Policy Adviser Bernadine Fernz said: “The Interim MSG has already started work on designing key aspects of the CoST Honduras programme. It has also undertaken to complete a broad based consultation to see if other organisations are willing to become involved and support CoST. Once its work is done it will organise elections for a permanent MSG that it can be confident will be fully representative of all stakeholders in the country.”
In addition to Government representatives, the Interim MSG comprises representatives from key industry bodies The Honduran Chamber of Construction, Association of Civil Engineers of Honduras, Association of Honduran coffee producers and civil society organisations National Anti-Corruption Council, Association for a More Just Society and Western Regional Platform of Honduras.
