This year, members published the next edition of their member plans. Every key collective figure from last year was achieved, including:
- 9 new or updated data platforms
- 6 members implementing the ITI
- 11 independent review processes
- 100s of people trained in infrastructure transparency
Across Africa, every single member implemented key targets listed in their annual plans – along with the impactful aims above, this also included using CoST’s climate and sustainability data points and working with young budding professionals to promote data use. Looking ahead, members across the continent will make targeted efforts to drive new data publication laws and reforms, working with the government on action plans, creating new dissemination materials, and building on their social accountability work.
Asia also had the same successes, with every member also following through on key targets. This includes data publication and independent reviews, but also involves organising stakeholder forums that include civil society and the private sector. These members will seek to go further by expanding their research on climate finance, enhancing their advocacy work, running public forums, formally adopting frameworks, and expanding the reach of the CoST approach across different regions.
Across Latin America, members delivered strong progress against their 2025 plans, including the development and rollout of new or enhanced data platforms in Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Panama, and Jalisco. This also included implementing Infrastructure Transparency Index processes, conducting early assurance and independent review work, and training hundreds of public officials and stakeholders to strengthen the use of infrastructure data.
Looking ahead, members will focus on scaling data publication and system use, including expanded platform coverage, strengthened independent review and follow-up processes, expanded municipal participation, and advancing regulatory reforms. Across the region, members will also strengthen sustainability, communications, and stakeholder engagement to embed transparency practices more deeply within infrastructure governance.
The existing achievements of members and their plans play a fundamental role in driving infrastructure transparency, accountability, and participation across diverse stakeholders and sectors. Their work has and will continue to make a vital difference to people’s lives across the globe.
