2021 was a year unlike any other, as we battled the impacts of the pandemic whilst also tackling anti-corruption and transparency in infrastructure. Despite this, CoST and its members advanced in several areas, including climate change, gender equality, advocacy and guidance. As detailed in our 2021 Annual Report, highlights for the year included:
- 21 wide sector reforms implemented – more than in 2020
- One of the highest levels of data disclosed ever – with data from over 19,000 projects – in line with the CoST Infrastructure Data Standard
- Over 6000 people trained from government, civil society organisations, journalists and the private sector
- Almost 100 projects reviewed using the CoST assurance process – more than any previous year
- New tools and relationships developed to mitigate the impact of climate change in the Global South by CoST members
- Guidance on gender equality developed
- CoST and its members’ work showcased and endorsed by the UN; President of Malawi; C20 and more
- The participation of events by US Summit for Democracy and the Asia Pacific Water Forum amongst others
