CoST- the Infrastructure Transparency Initiative seeks to improve transparency and accountability in publicly financed construction projects through the disclosure of information in an accessible format. Over the long term, the increase in transparency and accountability is expected to improve value for money from investments in infrastructure. Ethiopia was one of seven countries involved in the CoST pilot. The Ethiopian multi-stakeholder group sought to develop a system of information disclosure for the procurement and delivery of infrastructure projects.
This briefing note outlines how the CoST pilot was implemented in Ethiopia and describes the results obtained.
