Ahead of COP29, our webinar on Wednesday 6th November will highlight the problems, and solutions, in climate finance around areas such as the flow of funds; how countries receive and manage climate finances; security of funds; evaluation of data and more.
The panel of experts from CoST, World Bank, University of Cambridge and GIZ will discuss new tools and approaches that demonstrate the urgent need to improve the transparency, participation, and accountability of climate finance. This includes our new climate finance portal prototype and guidance note.
The webinar will also make links between this work, and the COP29 theme “In solidarity for a Green World.” Its relevancy to the COP29 pillars of enhancing ambition and enabling action will hopefully inspire COP29 attendees to continue discussing these tools and solutions during the conference.
The Q&A will allow attendees to contribute their knowledge and experience of the potential integrity and corruption risks. During the Q&A, attendees can also share any examples of attempts to develop similar tools to improve the transparency of climate finance and how they would like to be involved in the adopting new tools.
This event is recommended for people working in government and financial institutions who want to develop or strengthen their ability to identify and mitigate corruption risks, and effectively track and report on climate finance. We also recommend this event for activists, media and civil society representatives who require different tools and approaches to identify corruption on climate finance.
