John is CoST’s Programme Director, responsible for strategic development. He identifies how CoST can support government, civil society and the private sector to improve the transparency and integrity of infrastructure investments, contributing to a positive impact on local communities and business.

John’s CoST journey starts with the 2008-2011 pilot where he established and supported pilots as an International Policy Advisory, later helping to turn the pilot into a growing global initiative. He developed the initial guidance note series that underpinned CoST’s approach to improve transparency, participation and accountability.

He also has twenty years of experience in researching and developing practical solutions to corruption and mismanagement risks in infrastructure,  including for the Institution of Civil Engineers, the World Bank, the Department for International Development, London South Bank University and Transparency International Australia.

Outside work, John’s passion is football, including coaching his son’s team…
